No new enforcement powers being sought by NWC
In response to concerns raised by members, NABO sought assurance from British Waterways (via the BW Advisory Forum) and direct from DEFRA that BW will not be allowed to seek additional boating enforcement powers if the transfer of engagement to the New Waterways Charity go ahead.

NEW trustees announced to lead waterways into third sector
The founding trustees have been appointed for the new waterways charity that will take over the running of British Waterways’ canals, rivers and docks in England and Wales from April 2012.
Droitwich Canal Official Opening
The Droitwich Canals Partnership has announced details of the canal opening with a packed weekend of celebrations between Friday 1st July and Sunday 3rd July.
