Cambridge City Council have launched a consultation on the Riverside Moorings.
Riverside is at present a mooring place for several boats, many but not all residential. The Council say that the owners of these boats have no legal right to moor in this area, and complaints have been received about nuisance caused to residents and obstruction to other river users, not least because the river becomes narrow at this point.
The Council take the view that this problem needs to be resolved; at the same time, wish to deal as fairly as we can with the different interests in this issue, and minimise any hardship our decision may cause.
They would like to hear views about six potential options. These can be read here.
If you have local knowledge, please respond to the consultation.
The consultation closes on 15 March 2013.
