CRT annouce private boat license changes.
CRT have just announced the outocme of the long consulation on licensing. The headline changes, to be phased in over five years from April 2019, are that:

I write to express our concerns regarding the proposed take-over of the navigational responsibilities by the Canal and River Trust (CRT) of the waters currently managed by the Environment Agency (EA).

CRT have just issued a press release on the results of thier annual national boat count. This shows that licence evasion on its waterways has reduced by 0.7% overall in the past year to 3.7%, with 96.3% of boats holding up-to-date licences.
