A major rowing event organised by British Rowing is taking place on the Lancaster Canal at the beginning of September.

It involves some 70 rowers in 15 or more boats covering the entire navigable length of the canal from Preston to Tewitfield. The boats are coxed quadruple sculls.

Fri 2nd September - Preston to Garstang
Sat 3rd September - Garstang to Lancaster
Sun 4th September - Lancaster to Tewitfield.

Richard Trevitt, Chairman of the Lancaster Canal Trust asks that you draw this to the attention of boat crews who may be out on the canal on these days.
