The River Nene is all reopened after winter maintenance closures.
-
The Great Ouse continues to be closed at St Ives lock where major works are taking place. Hopefully these will be completed before Easter.
-
The Facilities in March are now closed. This means there are now no public facilities for boaters on the whole of the Middle Level. There are some at Foxes Marina - for a charge. I have been in touch with Fenland District Council, who provided the facilities. It seems that there are no plans to reopen them. They have said that they will not reopen the Elsan disposal or the pump out but will provide water and refuse disposal. There is no date given for when this will come to pass!
-
At present there are public facilities on Peterborough embankment. I advise members to make use of these before entering the Middle Level system.
Best wishes and happy boating to all,
Sadie

The new NABO website is very much alive
Have you noticed that there have been lots of postings to the NABO website? If you haven't, it's probably because you haven't checked the website lately.
In particular, the latest NABO News is on-line in the Members section - a chance to browse before it drops through the letterbox.
If you have forgotten how to login to the Members section, there is an FAQ.

Dear friends,
Just a little update on one thing and another before the holiday really starts.
Legal Challenge
The current position is that we have asked BW for a meeting date in January for Geoffrey and I to go to talk about the issues. We are awaiting confirmation.

Dear friends
At the end of August this year, NABO invited members, boat owners and hirers to respond to either or both of our online surveys:
British Waterways' Waterways Condition Survey 2009
and
Other Agencies' Waterways Condition Survey 2009.
