| NABO welcomes fines for Thames boaters with no licence |
EA has announced that two boaters have been fined for using boats on the Thames without current licences.
NABO understand that the Thames has a very small evasion problem in comparison to the canal system. Never the less it is right that boaters who do not make their proper contribution to the waterways are brought to task. As well as avoiding payment, they bypass the boat safety scheme, and therefore may put members of the public at risk. NABO welcomes these fines, and the message it sends to other people who may consider that they do not have to contribute to funding the waterways. Click here to see the EA press release
